The Postgraduate Program in Materials Science and Engineering makes public the final result of the selection process for the 1st semester of 2025.

Registration dates:
- Virtual registration: from 12/23/2024 to 01/03/2025;
- In-person registration: from 01/13 to 01/24/2025
- Start of classes 02/24/2025
Registration guidelines:
Enrollment is carried out in two stages: the first virtual, when all documents listed below must be sent to the email support_smm@eesc.usp.br and; in person: when all documents must be presented physically for verification.
Students must present the National Registry of Foreigners within the 90-day deadline, or their enrollment will be cancelled.
Documents required for registration:
Master’s degree:
- Enrollment Form – Regular Student (supervisor’s signature required).
- Declaration of knowledge of the USP Postgraduate Regulations and other regulations.
- Register of Individuals (CPF) (if not included in the ID).
- Identity card (RG), front and back.
- Birth or Marriage Certificate, front and back.
- Voter registration card and electoral discharge certificate, front and back.
- Proof of discharge from military service for Brazilian males, front and back.
- Duly registered graduation diploma (front and back) or certificate with the course completion date, containing the date on which the degree was awarded, obtained in an officially recognized course;
- Complete academic transcript (with graduation date), front and back.
- Proof of proficiency in English.
- Lattes/CNPq CV in PDF format.
PHD:
- Enrollment Form – Regular Student (supervisor’s signature required).
- Declaration of knowledge of the USP Postgraduate Regulations and other regulations.
- Register of Individuals (CPF) (if not included in the ID).
- Identity card (RG), front and back.
- Birth or Marriage Certificate, front and back.
- Voter registration card and electoral discharge certificate, front and back.
- Proof of discharge from military service for Brazilian males, front and back.
- Duly registered graduation diploma (front and back) or certificate with the course completion date, containing the date on which the degree was awarded, obtained in an officially recognized course;
- Complete graduation transcript (with graduation date), front and back.
- Proof of proficiency in English.
- Lattes/CNPq CV in PDF format.
- Master’s degree or certificate of defense, duly approved, issued by a competent body, in the case of a Doctorate, front and back.
- Complete Master’s academic record, containing the date of defense, in the case of a Doctorate, front and back.
- Research Plan, in the case of a Doctorate or Direct Doctorate.
Foreign candidates:
- Present all documentation listed above, in accordance with the intended course, with the exception of the following documents (they are DISMISSED): ID, birth or marriage certificate, voter registration card and proof of discharge from military service.
- AND NECESSARY to present:
- National Migration Registry (RNM), or protocol issued by the Brazilian federal police (visa) that authorizes you to study in Brazil. Obtaining a visa must be done in advance, contact the Brazilian embassy for more information. See also the Federal Government page
- Passport: identification page with photo and page with stamp and date of entry into Brazil.
Scholarship holders:
According to CAPES regulations, the body that promotes the scholarships that will be distributed, the student’s scholarship will only start from the moment they take up residence in the city where the postgraduate program is full.
Scholarships will only be deposited in Banco do Brasil accounts.
The implementation of the scholarships will be done following the classification order, according to the availability calendar and only upon enrollment in the desired course, presentation of the bank account number, the student establishing residence in the city of São Carlos and signing the CAPES Term of Responsibility.
They will be implemented over the months, respecting the placement obtained by the candidates:
January: 4 PhD scholarships / 3 Master’s scholarships
February: 2 PhD scholarships / 3 Master’s scholarships
March: 1 PhD scholarship / 2 Master’s scholarships
